Farm animals need food, water, and IMC Global! Among the world's leading phosphate producers, IMC Global feeds the earth that feeds the crops. It makes fertilizers from phosphates and potash; principle products include diammonium phosphate (DAP), monoammonium phosphate (MAP), and triple superphosphate (TSP). It also makes potassium- and phosphorus-based additives for livestock and poultry feeds. With production facilities in the US and Canada, the company markets its products mainly in the US, China, Europe, and India. IMC has five phosphate mines in Florida and Louisiana and six potash mines in the US and Canada. The company announced in January 2004 that it agreed to merge with Cargill's crop nutrition unit.
