LANCASTER, N.Y., Oct. 3, 2008 (GLOBE NEWSWIRE) -- Ecology and Environment, Inc. (NasdaqGM:EEI - News) has been awarded a contract agreement for consultant services from the Illinois Department of Transportation (IDOT). The firm has been providing services to IDOT for approximately 15 years, and this is the fifth contract between the two parties.

This $4.5-million contract encompasses hazardous waste and UST investigations at sites of planned IDOT construction activities, oversight of emergency response actions to incidents at IDOT facilities, evaluation of corrective and remedial actions and costs, compliance assessments, and implementation of remedial programs. E & E has already received five work orders under this new contract, which will be conducted primarily by the Firm's Chicago-based staff.
