NEW YORK, Sept. 11, 2008 (GLOBE NEWSWIRE) -- ACI Worldwide, Inc. (NasdaqGS:ACIW - News) today announced the appointment of a new member to its board of directors, Dr. James C. McGroddy. His appointment was effective September 10, 2008. Dr. McGroddy will serve as chairman of the board's newly established technology committee.

Dr. McGroddy, a self-employed consultant, was employed by IBM from 1965 through 1996 in various capacities, including seven years as senior vice president of research. He is chairman of the board of MIQS, a Colorado-based healthcare information technology company; chairman of the board of Advanced Networks and Services, Inc; and a member of the board of directors of Forth Dimension Displays Limited. Dr. McGroddy also served as a member of the board of directors of Paxar Corporation, a provider of merchandising systems for the retail and apparel industry. He is a member of the U.S. National Academy of Engineering.
