He earned his M.S. in Bacteriology and Ph. D. in Microbiology from Syracuse University. He taught Microbiology at Syracuse University, Le Moyne College and Columbia University. While at Syracuse he was graduate teaching assistant and resident advisor. He spent thirty-seven years in the Pharmaceutical and Medical-Surgical industries where he was instrumental in the introduction of many new medical and drug products. These included such products as Excedrin, Advil and Anti-Microbials e.g. Cidex the number one product used as a chemical sterilizing agent in hospitals. He worked in managerial positions for Bristol Myers, Ethicon of Johnson & Johnson, Wyeth Laboratories and as director of research and development for Parke-Davis. In this position he developed various products.
