| Washington Trust Bancorp, Inc. operates as the holding company for The Washington Trust Company, which provides various banking and financial services to individuals and businesses in the United States. The Wealth Management Services segment offers asset management services for individuals and institutions; personal trust services, including executor, trustee, administrator, custodian, and guardian services; institutional trust services, including services as trustee for pension and profit sharing plans; and other financial planning and advisory services. As of December 31, 2007, Washington Trust Bancorp operated 17 branch offices in Rhode Island, Massachusetts, and southeastern Connecticut. The company was founded in 1800 and is headquartered in Westerly, Rhode Island. |
