| The investment seeks high interest income largely exempt from federal income taxes as is consistent with preservation of capital. The fund normally invests at least 80% of assets in investment-grade, tax-exempt municipal securities. It may invest up to 20% of assets (and up to 50% for temporary defensive purposes) in taxable debt such as U.S. government-guaranteed securities, high-quality corporate debt, commercial paper rated in one of the top two categories, certificates of deposit and repurchase agreements secured by U.S. Government securities. The average maturity is expected to be in six to fifteen year range. |
