| Qimonda AG supplies semiconductor memory products primarily in the United States, Europe, and the Asia Pacific region. It designs semiconductor memory technologies, as well as develops, manufactures, markets, and sells various semiconductor memory products on a chip, component, and module level. The company offers various dynamic random access memory (DRAM) products, including infrastructure DRAMs for servers, networking, and storage equipment; graphics DRAMs for graphics cards and game consoles; and mobile and consumer DRAMs for mobile phones, digital audio players, GPS devices, televisions, set-top boxes, DVD recorders, and other consumer electronic devices. It also provides standard DRAM products for use in personal computers and workstations. In addition, Qimonda offers embedded DRAM products in the form of ‘system-on-chip’ integrated circuits that integrate memory and logic circuitry on a single chip. The company’s principal customers include original equipment manufacturers in the personal computer and server markets, as well as memory module manufacturers and infrastructure equipment manufacturers. It has strategic alliances with Nanya Technology Corporation; China Singapore Suzhou Industrial Park Venture Co., Ltd.; Semiconductor Manufacturing International Corporation; Elpida Memory, Inc.; and Winbond Electronics Corporation. The company was founded in 1952. It was formerly known as Invot AG and changed its name to Qimonda AG in 2006. The company is headquartered in Munich, Germany. |
