| The investment seeks a high level of current interest income exempt from regular federal, state and, in some cases, local income taxes as is consistent with preservation of capital. The fund invests at least 80% of its net assets in municipal securities that are covered by insurance guaranteeing the timely payment of principal and interest.The fund ordinarily invests only quality municipal bonds that are rated investment grade (AAA/Aaa to BBB/Baa) at the time of purchase by at least one independent rating agency. The fund may buy non-rated municipal bonds if the funds investment adviser judges them to be investment grade. The fund is nondiversified. |
