| The investment seeks total return. The fund normally invests at least 80% of assets in fixed income securities, including U.S. government securities, securities issued by agencies of the U.S government, taxable municipal bonds and corporate debt securities. It invests primarily in investment grade intermediate term fixed income securities, usually rated Baa or higher by Moody's Investors Service, or BBB or higher by Standard and Poor's Corporation. The management seeks to reduce interest rate risk by maintaining an average maturity of the bonds and notes of between three and eight years. |
