Its data products comprise standardized and as-reported fundamental financial data, annual and quarterly financial statements, insider trades, institutional holdings, initial and secondary public offerings, Form 8-K disclosures, electronic prospectuses, and other investment instrument disclosure information. Further, it engages in advertising and e-commerce activities. EDGAR Online sells its subscriptions and data feeds directly to end-users or embedded in other Web sites and through a variety of data redistributors. The company’s customers include financial, corporate, and advisory professionals that work in financial institutions, such as investment funds, asset management firms, insurance companies and banks, stock exchanges, and government agencies, as well as accounting firms, law firms, corporations and individual investors. EDGAR Online has strategic alliances with Microsoft, R.R. Donnelley, and foreign stock exchanges. The company was founded in 1995. It was formerly as Cybernet Data Systems, Inc. and changed its name to EDGAR Online, Inc. in 1999. The company is based in Norwalk, Connecticut. |
