| Denbury Resources, Inc. engages in the acquisition, development, operation, and exploration of oil and natural gas properties in the Gulf Coast region of the United States, primarily in Louisiana, Mississippi, Alabama, and Texas. The company primarily holds interests in the Barnett Shale area in north central Texas. It also owns the rights to a natural source of carbon dioxide (CO2) reserves that it uses for injection in its tertiary oil recovery operations, as well as sells some of the CO2 it produces to third party industrial users. As of December 31, 2007, the company had 741 gross oil producing wells and 385 gross natural gas producing wells; and approximately 134,978 MBbls of proved oil reserves and 358,608 MMcf of proved natural gas reserves. Denbury Resources was founded in 1951 and is headquartered in Plano, Texas. |
