Its products include a range of microwave and power grid vacuum electron devices (VEDs), satellite communications amplifier subsystems, radar and electronic warfare subsystems, specialized antenna subsystems, solid-state integrated microwave assemblies, medical x-ray generators and control systems, modulators and transmitters, and various electronic power supply and control equipment and devices. These products are used for critical defense, communications, medical, scientific, and other applications to generate, amplify, transmit, direct, measure, and control various forms of electromagnetic energy; and provide the voltages and currents to power and control devices that generate electromagnetic energy. The company operates in two segments, VED and Satcom Equipment. The VED segment develops, manufactures, and distributes high power/high frequency microwave and RF signal components. Its products include linear beam, cavity, power grid, crossed field, and magnetron devices. These products are used in the communication, radar, electronic countermeasures, industrial, medical, and scientific markets. This segment distributes its products through direct sales force, independent sales representatives, and distributors. The Satcom Equipment segment manufactures and supplies high power amplifiers and networks for satellite communication uplink and industrial applications. It also provides spares, service, and other post sales support. This segment distributes its products through its direct sales force and independent sales representatives. The company, formerly known as CPI Holdco, Inc., was founded in 1948. It changed its name to CPI International, Inc. in 2006. CPI International is headquartered in Palo Alto, California. |
