Atheros Communications sells its products directly to original equipment manufacturers and original design manufacturers through direct sales staff, independent sales representatives, and distributors primarily in the United States, Taiwan, and China. The company was founded in 1998. It was formerly known as T-Span Systems Corporation and changed its name to Atheros Communications, Inc. in 2000.
