AMR Corporation (AMR), through its subsidiaries, operates as a scheduled passenger airline in the United States. The company, through its principal subsidiary, American Airlines, Inc., provides scheduled jet service to approximately 170 destinations throughout North America, the Caribbean, Latin America, Europe, and Asia. American Airlines also operates as a scheduled air freight carrier, providing a range of freight and mail services to shippers throughout its system. In addition, the company, through its subsidiary AMR Eagle Holding Corporation and other two independently owned regional airlines, provides connecting service from eight of American’s high-traffic cities to smaller markets in the United States, Canada, Mexico, and the Caribbean under the names American Eagle and American Connection. As of December 31, 2007, AMR’s owned and leased aircraft in operation included 655 American Airlines Aircrafts and 296 AMR Eagle Aircrafts. The company was founded in 1934 and is headquartered in Fort Worth, Texas.
