It sells its products under various brand names, including Hefty, Baggies, Hefty OneZip, Hefty Cinch Sak, Hefty The Gripper, Hefty Zoo Pals, Kordite, and EZ Foiltm to grocery stores, mass merchandisers, and discount chains. The Foodservice/Food Packaging segment manufactures foam, clear plastic, aluminum, pressed-paperboard, and molded-fiber packaging products. Customers for this segment include foodservice distributors, restaurants, and other institutional foodservice outlets, as well as food processors and grocery chains. Pactiv Corporation sells its products through a direct sales force, and a network of brokers and manufacturers’ representatives. The company was founded in 1965 as Packaging Corporation of America. It changed its name to Tenneco Packaging, Inc. in 1995 and to Pactiv Corporation in 1999. The company is headquartered in Lake Forest, Illinois. Pactiv Corp. (NYSE:PTV) operates independently of Tenneco Inc. as of November 4, 1999. |
