Fortis advances publication trading update to 14 November BRUSSELS, BELGIUM--(MARKET WIRE)--Nov 13, 2008 -- Fortis decided to align the publication dates of the special Board report for the Shareholders' Meeting of Fortis SA/NV and the trading update by publishing both documents on Friday 14 November. As a consequence it brings forward the publication of the Fortis'trading update which was previously announced for 19 November. Fortis published on 8 November the agenda of the General Shareholders' Meetings it will hold in Utrecht (Fortis N.V.) on 1 December and in Brussels (Fortis SA/NV) on 2 December. The agenda for the Meeting in Brussels includes a resolution which needs to be adopted on the continuation of the activities of Fortis SA/NV in accordance with the Belgian Companies Code, article 633. In preparation of this last topic, a special Board report will be put at the disposal of the shareholders as of Friday 14 November as well, i.e., at least 15 calendar days in advance of the Meeting in line with the legal requirements. The trading update will be published together with the preparatory documents for the General Shareholders' Meeting after trading hours and will also be available on the Fortis website (www.fortis.com).
The international insurance activities (Fortis Insurance International) are located in UK, France, Hong Kong, Luxembourg (Non-Life), Germany, Turkey, Russia, and Ukraine, and in joint ventures in Luxembourg (Life), Portugal, China, Malaysia, India and Thailand. Fortis is therefore no longer involved in any banking activities, and once the deal with BNP Paribas is concluded, will contain only international insurance activities.
