RANDGOLD RESOURCES STRENGTHENS BOARD

London, 5 November 2008  -   London and Nasdaq listed gold miner
Randgold Resources today announced the appointment of two prominent
businessmen, Christopher Coleman and Jon Walden, as non-executive
directors.

Mr Coleman is London based and is currently co-head of banking and a
director of N M Rothschild & Sons Limited as well as chairman of
Rothschild Bank International Limited in the Channel Islands.

Mr Walden, also based in London, is managing director of Lex Vehicle
Leasing, is a non-executive director of Morgan Sindall plc and until
2005 was a director of RAC plc.

Randgold Resources chairman Philippe Lietard said he was delighted to
welcome the new directors to the board, which would be enhanced by
their stature and experience, and confirmed that their appointment was
in line with the company's phased succession plan.

No further disclosure is required in compliance with the provisions of
UK Listing Rule 9.6.13.
