Intersil to Feature New Proximity Sensor, Automotive Infotainment ICs, and D2Audio(R) Products at Electronica on Tuesday, November 11, 2008

MUNICH, GERMANY--(MARKET WIRE)--Nov 3, 2008 -- ELECTRONICA -- Intersil Corporation (NasdaqGS:ISIL - News), a world leader in the design and manufacture of high-performance analog semiconductors, today announced that it will showcase its analog products and technology at Electronica 2008 from November 11-14, 2008 in Hall A4, Booth 207 at the New Trade Fair Centre in Munich, Germany. Intersil will display a wide array of high-performance analog products that address the industry's fastest-growing markets.

Intersil Launches ISL29015 Proximity Sensor

The ISL29015 proximity sensor, the latest of Intersil's light sensor offerings, will be on display for the first time at Electronica 2008.

The ISL29015 combines an ambient light sensor along with an integrated infrared sensor, an LED driver for an external infrared LED, and signal conditioning processing. This one-chip proximity sensing solution eliminates up to four external discrete functions, increasing available board-space. The demonstration will enable booth visitors to see the ICs ambient light sensing and proximity sensing performance in real-time, as well as the configuration software that is bundled with the evaluation boards available through the Intersil website.

Intersil is the recognized leader in Ambient Light Sensor technology, delivering unmatched spectral response performance in any light condition. This product line has won or been nominated for some of the industry's most prestigious innovation awards and includes both light-to-current and light-to-digital options in clear ODFN packaging.

High-Speed Data Converters

Intersil will display its new line of high-speed converters that utilize its proprietary FemtoCharge® CMOS technology to deliver high-performance and ultra-low power CMOS analog-to-digital converters in an extremely small die area. These devices not only save space, but deliver competitive or improved performance while using as little as one fifth the power of the nearest competitor. All of the power and space savings are realized without sacrificing dynamic performance or speed. The size and power performance of these devices have been recognized by numerous prestigious industry magazines including EETimes, Electronic Design News and Electronic Design as innovations or products of the year.

Automotive Infotainment Display

Intersil will unveil its new fully-functional automotive infotainment demo which will include ambient light sensors to control the overall display brightness, active LED drivers that illuminate a wide variety of evaluation boards to simulate automotive interior LED lighting, and a SERDES solution that will showcase backchannel communication capabilities with interactive touch screen displays.

The demo will also include Intersil's complete D2Audio® aftermarket/OEM automotive digital audio amplifier evaluation platform featuring the DAE-2(TM) D2-91413-LR. This demonstration combines the DAE-2 audio digital signal processor with integrated Class-D amplifier controllers, real-time digital audio feedback and digital feedforward power supply correction. Visitors can stand behind the steering wheel and hear first-hand the rich, immersive audio experience provided by Intersil's D2Audio automotive solutions.

Intersil's D2Audio® DTV SoundSuite(TM) Demonstration

Intersil's D2Audio SoundSuite collection of advanced audio processing technologies delivers a rich and vibrant audio experience, improving the normally flat audio performance of most consumer devices. The live demo will allow visitors to experience how SoundSuite products, with psycho-acoustic enhancements, dramatically improve the listening experience in 2-channel and multi-channel systems.

Intersil's Pinpoint Precision Analog Products and Press Interviews at Electronica

Refreshments and Analoger(TM) beer will be available at the booth to launch Intersil's new online video campaign promoting the pinPOINT(TM) Precision Analog product line.

The pinPOINT(TM) product line includes: digitally controlled potentiometers (DCPs), instrumentation amplifiers, precision op amps and precision voltage references.

Intersil's analog experts will be available for press and analyst interviews throughout the conference. To schedule an interview before or during Electronica, please contact Rob Purdie at (321) 724-7688, or by email at rpurdie@intersil.com.
