Community Brings Together Security Visionaries to Discuss News and Trends in the Emerging Security Space

VIENNA, VA--(MARKET WIRE)--Oct 15, 2008 -- VidSys, the leading provider of Physical Security Information Management (PSIM) software for Situation Management, today announced that it has assembled a number of leading companies to launch www.psimtrends.com, a thought leadership site dedicated to discussing the Physical Security Information Management (PSIM) industry. Visionaries from BAE Systems, Cisco, Coleman Technologies, Inc., Motorola, Northrop Grumman, ObjectVideo and Vialogy join VidSys in an ongoing virtual roundtable that will engage the security industry in an evolving conversation on this rapidly growing technology category.

"As the PSIM industry continues to grow and expand its reach within both the public and private sectors, we knew that we needed a central place for the leaders in the space to tackle issues and discuss trends," explained David Fowler, senior vice president, marketing and development, VidSys. "This site engages anyone who's looking to implement a PSIM system or who already has and is looking to extend it. We're excited to forge a community that will encourage best practices and knowledge sharing within the security industry."

PSIM marries physical security device management with the automation and reasoning capabilities of computing. PSIM software systems are designed and optimized to integrate and analyze information from traditional physical security devices and systems, and present the necessary data to automatically or manually resolve the situation in real time. A complete PSIM software system provides all the necessary tools for situation management including data collection, verification, analysis, resolution and tracking.

"Because PSIM is a relatively new space, it's important to establish a dialogue amongst the major players to adequately explore issues and discuss hot topics," said Gavin Long, Director of Strategy & Development, BAE Systems. "We are excited to be a part of this forward-looking group that will drive the PSIM discussion and contribute to the continued growth of this emerging industry."

The community, which went live on Sept. 6, 2008, has already started the conversation on many hot PSIM topics including the state of the market and physical security integration. The interactive site encourages participation and discussion, including a question of the week designed to gather insight from the readers. The site also points to related content available elsewhere including relevant Webinars, white papers and articles on the topic.

To join the discussion or to become a member organization, go to www.psimtrends.com.
