D-Link Selects Cavium Networks' OCTEON(TM) Processors for SMB 802.11n WLAN Solutions

MOUNTAIN VIEW, CA--(MARKET WIRE)--Oct 10, 2008 -- Cavium Networks (NasdaqGM:CAVM - News), a leading provider of highly integrated semiconductor products that enable intelligent processing for networking, communications, storage and security applications, today announced that D-Link, an end-to-end networking solutions provider for consumers and business, has selected Cavium Networks' OCTEON MIPS64® processor family for use in its SMB wireless LAN (WLAN) Access Point (AP), DAP-2590. The OCTEON processor family provides a scalable processor family with leading performance/dollar and performance/watt, and is being used by several companies for a variety of single and dual band APs for both indoor and outdoor applications. Today OCTEON single and dual-core processors are being used in a wide mix of SMB equipment including UTM routers, switches and storage equipment.
