NEW YORK, NY--(MARKET WIRE)--Oct 1, 2008 -- KOCH Records recording artist OTEP announces the "Unite & Conquer Tour 2008," a co-headlining tour with favorites ILL NINÕ. Otep Shamaya is set to bring her blistering live show to fans once again.

OTEP's latest album, "The Ascension," is set to be released on vinyl on October 28th, 2008, and will be available at Hot Topic and other retailers across the country. Alternative Press heralded "The Ascension" as "eloquent and necessary" and Billboard chose it as one of the hot picks of the year. The band has just finished filming its first live DVD, shot in Los Angeles, due out in early 2009.

Otep Shamaya, the captivating singer and brainchild of the group, has made a name for herself outside of music. Singer, Activist, Actress, Writer. She has filmed segments for several top-rated TV shows, including HBO's "DEF POETRY," Bravo's "DATE MY EX" and TLC's hit show "L.A. Ink." She was most recently a guest speaker at the Democratic National Convention and works extensively with Voter Registration. Otep is also one of the most searched celebrities on pop culture sites such as TheInsider.com and Citizenceleb.com.

Shamaya also finds time to be a vocal and committed activist for such causes as Climate Change via CarbonRally.com, Voter Registration via Rock the Vote, Equal Rights, Victims Rights, Hurricane Relief, the genocides in Darfur, Chad, and Myanmar, PETA, and RAINN.
