Hana Mining Reports on Drilling and Exploration Activities at Ghanzi Copper-Silver Project in Botswana DIAMOND DRILLING FURTHER EXTENDS COPPER SILVER MINERALIZATION ALONG NORTH AND SOUTH LIMBS OF ZONES 1 and 2 REINTERPRETATION OF AIRBORNE GEOPHYSICAL SURVEYS IDENTIFY SECOND MINERALIZED HORIZON COMBINED HORIZONS NOW TOTAL 1,100 KILOMETERS OF STRIKE LENGTH MICON INTERNATIONAL CONFIRMS CERTAIN HISTORCAL DRILL DATA CAN BE USED FOR FUTURE RESOURCE ESTIMATIONS VANCOUVER, BRITISH COLUMBIA--(MARKET WIRE)--Oct 1, 2008 -- Hana Mining Ltd. to report an update of corporate activities and exploration
at its sediment-hosted Ghanzi Copper-Silver Project in Botswana.
Assay results for 26 diamond drill holes collared along
the North Limb of Zone 1 and South Limb of Zone 2 have been
received. Twelve of the holes were drilled along the south
limb of Zone 2 which has now been defined along a 3.7 kilometer
strike length and the remaining fourteen holes were drilled
along a 2.4 kilometer strike length at the north limb of
Zone 1. The holes at Zone 1 are 5.0 kilometers southwest
of previously reported diamond drilling (press release of
May 8, 2008) and 12.0 kilometers northeast of a new discovery
reported from percussion drilling (press release of July

This is the first drilling carried out by Hana Mining in
this area. An additional 33 diamond drill holes have been
completed at Zones 1 and 2 and results are pending. To view Figure 1; please visit the following link: http://media3.marketwire.com/docs/hanaminingfigure1.pdf Twin Hole Program The initial stages of the drilling campaign, which started in August 2007, were focussed on twinning 5 RC holes and 2 diamond drill holes carried out by Delta Gold and Anglo American, respectively as stated in the NI 43-101 Technical Report. (See report at -http://www.hanamining.com/i/pdf/TechnicalReport.pdf). The goal of the twin hole program was to verify mineralization and determine whether this data could be incorporated into the drill hole database for future resource estimation. An assessment of the twin hole program was carried out by Micon International. The study noted that there is good correspondence of the thickness and location of the mineralized intervals between the holes; however, the grade of the RC holes was higher than the corresponding diamond drill hole. Micon concludes "...that the data from the RC and Anglo core holes can be used for Inferred resource estimation. The RC sample data will likely need a top-cut applied to remove the risk of bias. This top-cut can be derived from statistical analysis of sample populations from new drilling." The net effect of this study is that Hana Mining can now incorporate 27 additional RC holes and at least 20 diamond drill holes into a database for resource estimation. Reinterpretation of Airborne Geophysics The model for copper-silver mineralization at Ghanzi consists of copper sulphide minerals that occur immediately above the contact between a lower oxidized sandstone FW (foot wall) and upper reduced siltstones HW (hanging wall). This mineralized horizon has been repeated across the property due to folding along northeast trending axes. The main tool for delineating these folds and attendant potential horizons is government aeromagnetic and EM data. This data has been reprocessed and interpreted resulting in the identification of two mineralization target types; the typical HW - FW type can be traced over a 600 kilometer cumulative strike length, and an intra-hanging wall type that occurs above the HW-FW type, that can be traced over a 560 kilometer cumulative strike length. Collectively, these two mineralization targets represent over 1160 kilometers of cumulative strike length which equates to only 1.5% of the entire property as being drill tested.
