COLUMBUS, OH--(MARKET WIRE)--Sep 18, 2008 -- The Physicians' Assurance Corp. (TPAC), a provider of employee group health insurance owned and operated by local medical leaders in Columbus, Ohio, began enrolling policyholders this summer.

Physicians' ASSURANCE received a Certificate of Authority from the Ohio Department of Insurance in February, approving it as a state-licensed insurance company. The company opened its office in March at 300 West Wilson Bridge Road, Suite 250 in Worthington.

Products include PPO, HSA and HRA for small to mid-size employers in central Ohio and are distributed through local brokers and consultants.

Physicians' ASSURANCE is the only Columbus, Ohio health insurance company controlled primarily by physicians. The team of central Ohio medical professionals started Physicians' ASSURANCE to address the cost crunch the state's small employers face in providing insurance to employees.
