Laramide Resources Ltd. is also pleased to provide commentary on the results announced September 14, 2008 of the Western Australia (WA) election which resulted in a Liberal minority government. The significance of this result to uranium developers in Australia has been widely reported on by the Australian and international media. Marc Henderson, Laramide President & CEO, has the following statement:

"The recent change of government in Western Australia was a development that was almost completely unexpected by most political pundits and highlighted the fact that the risk discount on some Australian uranium projects had widened to an unwarranted extreme. Cameco and Mitsubishi's purchase of Kintyre from Rio Tinto in August for US $495 million looks particularly opportunistic in this context and, as a similar calibre project to our Westmoreland asset in Queensland, provides a useful valuation metric. The election of a pro-uranium development administration in WA moves the country one step closer to unanimity on policy and we continue to believe this outcome is inevitable and will allow Australia to assert its natural competitive advantage as the politically secure, low cost jurisdiction of choice for the world's nuclear utilities.

Laramide has implemented a quality control program at Westmoreland to ensure best practices.

Under the guidelines of the National Instrument 43-101, the Qualified Person for the Westmoreland Uranium Project is Mr. Peter Mullens, who is a member of the Australian Institute of Mining and Metallurgy. Mr. Mullens has reviewed and approved the technical content of this release.
