Tizor's Mantra Policy Language Combines Ease of Use With Integrated Analytics to Protect Data for Security and Compliance

MAYNARD, MA--(MARKET WIRE)--Sep 9, 2008 -- Tizor Systems, a leading provider of enterprise database monitoring and protection solutions for the data center, today announced that the United States Patent and Trademark Office awarded the company a new U.S. Patent (U.S. Patent Number 7,415,719) on August 19, 2008. The patent is for the first comprehensive data auditing policy framework that integrates easy to understand English-like rules and templates with behavioral analytics to detect and prevent data theft and data breach in real time.

Tizor's analytics, called Behavioral Fingerprinting, detect suspicious or anomalous behavior in real time, including large data downloads, unknown or untrusted PCs or unapproved off-hour activity, in enterprise repositories such as databases and file servers. This intelligence protects data from misuse and theft because it automatically identifies insider intrusions and illegitimate data access. Unlike other complex, base lining solutions which generate volumes of false positives, Mantra's Behavioral Fingerprinting builds a dynamic, constantly updated user profile resulting in highly accurate detection of suspicious activity.

The English-like policy language allows technical or non-technical users to create detailed compliance and security policies without the long learning curve typically associated with other tools. Complex risk management issues can now be solved by different stakeholders across the enterprise, including risk, compliance and security officers. Additionally, pre-built compliance templates let enterprises address regulations and standards, such as SOX, GLBA, FFIEC and PCI, in less time, with fewer people and at a lower total cost of ownership.

"Protecting data from theft, breach and insider abuse requires a new approach and technology specifically designed for data centric security," said Prat Moghe, founder and CEO of Tizor Systems. "We designed the Mantra policy language to be powerful yet intuitive. This patent recognizes that Tizor is the only company to provide a solution that makes it easy for enterprises to rapidly build data security and compliance policies that can protect core data systems."

According to the Privacy Rights Clearinghouse, there have been more than 244 million records containing sensitive personal information involved in security breaches in the U.S. since January 2005. Mantra provides enterprises with unprecedented visibility and protection into all data assets and easily and accurately discovers, monitors and secures an organization's most sensitive information assets from data thieves.
