Panasonic Launches World's First Free Angle HDMI Cable DENVER, CO--(MARKET WIRE)--Sep 3, 2008 -- Panasonic today announced the launch of the
world's first free angle HDMI Cable, compliant with Version
1.3a
specification, which assures 1080p high data transfer speed
of up to
10.2Gbps. The new HDMI cables provide an easy solution for
flat display
panel installation and will be available in two lengths:
1.5m and 3m.
The HDMI Cable has been adopted by a wide range of digital devices, including flat panel display DVD/Blu-ray recorder, digital still cameras, video cameras, home theatre system and others. With the market trend for extremely flat panel displays, there is a growing need for cables with a free angle plug. As television displays are getting thinner and lighter the trend is moving towards hanging them on the wall. However with the current HDMI cables, 3.5 inches of space may be needed between the panel and the wall to connect the HDMI cable, causing limitations for easy installation. The new Panasonic Free Angle HDMI Cable has flexibility of 180 degrees and thanks to the unique construction the required space for the connection can be minimized to 1.2 inches away from the wall. With the release of the new free angle HDMI Cable, Panasonic remains committed to playing a leading role in the development of both HDMI enabled devices and HDMI Cables. The new cables will be available in October 2008 with suggested retail prices of $59.99 for 1.5m and $79.99 for 3m. Please click here for product images: www.panasonic.com/pressroom/CEDIA2008.
