Featuring work from more than two dozen National Geographic Assignment photographers, the website is a resource for organizations looking to hire assignment photographers in fields like still life and travel to underwater and landscape. By working with liveBooks for the new site, National Geographic Assignment is able to professionally showcase its photographers and their work, thereby helping enhance their business.

"Our liveBooks site does a wonderful job of showcasing our photographers while also reinforcing and supporting the overall National Geographic brand -- all while being easy for us to maintain and update," said Mimi Dornack, Sales Manager, National Geographic Assignment. "We are thrilled with the elegant navigation and brilliant quality of our new site, which will undoubtedly help our assortment of talented photographers expand their reach in the photo community and gain a consistent stream of new assignments."

Featuring an easy transition between the photographers and their industries, the site, located at www.nationalgeographicassignment.com, boasts a unique navigation system that allows visitors to see all the styles of a particular photographer by simply rolling over his or her name (see image A). Conversely, by rolling over a particular style on the site, visitors can find all photographers who work in those industries (see image B). In order to create this navigation system, liveBooks partnered with BrandEnvy's Nadine Stellavato Brown, who designed the system.

This isn't the first time liveBooks has teamed up with National Geographic. liveBooks sponsors the National Geographic All Roads Competition and produces free websites for award winners. Both those sites and the National Geographic Assignment website allow photographers to professionally showcase their work, resulting in greater exposure and help in growing their businesses.

"It has always been liveBooks' mission to empower the photo community and our work with the All Roads Competition has been a key component in helping us achieve that goal," said Andy Patrick, president and CEO of liveBoooks. "By expanding our partnership with National Geographic through the development of the Assignment website, we are multiplying that impact by exposing a large group of excellent photographers to the world at one time."

In addition to the help from Stellavato Brown from BrandEnvy, the partnership between liveBooks and the National Geographic Assignment division was made possible with the help of consultants Susanne Sease and Amanda Sosa Stone. With a common goal of having an easy to update site, which only liveBooks could deliver, Sease, Sosa Stone and Stellavato Brown asked liveBooks to join forces and help develop a website that would be both aesthetically pleasing while being user-friendly.
