RESTON, VA--(MARKET WIRE)--Aug 25, 2008 -- With many US charities and organizations currently focused on international relief and development projects, the founder of a Virginia-based organization is focusing his efforts on eliminating poverty and homelessness here at home in the United States.

The LifeSource Foundation works nationwide to eliminate poverty by providing affordable housing to disadvantaged families, offering food and shelter, assisting in job-skills training and encouraging the entrepreneurial spirit in others.

"Our organization is dedicated to helping Americans with the belief that we can't offer others what we can't successfully do for ourselves," says Pastor Pierre Bennett, founder and president of the LifeSource Foundation.

"The goal is to create a poverty-free America, one community at a time," he adds.

Founded in 1999, the LifeSource Foundation has formed a network of relationships across the country to assist families outside of the organization's headquarters in Reston, Virginia. To date, approximately 85,000 individuals have been assisted through multiple projects and programs.

In addition to LifeSource, Pierre Bennett has also founded God's Luv Ministries, a non-denominational Bible-based ministry located in Vienna, Virginia.

For Pastor Bennett, the foundation is the practical application of the Biblical principles he teaches through his ministry.

"There is a clear Biblical mandate to clothe the naked, feed the hungry and heal the sick. LifeSource enables us to fulfill these commandments and make an impact on people's lives in the process," he says.

Bennett adds that his foundation is currently growing and is seeking individuals across the country who would like to establish partnerships through product donations, financial support, volunteer opportunities or community mobilization efforts.
