TORONTO, ONTARIO--(MARKET WIRE)--Aug 20, 2008 -- Copper Reef Mining Corporation (the "Company") (CNQ: CZCC) announces that Mr. John D. Harvey, P.Eng and Mr. Marion(Mike) Koziol, P.Eng., P.Geo. have resigned as directors of the Company. Both cited demands of other business as the reason for their resignations. Copper Reef appreciates the contribution John and Mike made to the Company.

The board of directors has appointed two new directors to replace them:-

Kevin Strong C.G.A, of Winnipeg Manitoba. From 1999 to 2007, Mr. Strong was the Manager of the Winnipeg Office of the TSX Venture Exchange (formerly the Canadian Venture Exchange). Prior to this, he was the Manager of Marketing and Operations at the Winnipeg Stock Exchange. He currently acts as C.F.O. for two public companies. Mr. Strong, who holds a Bachelor of Commerce Degree (Hons) from the University of Manitoba, brings strong financial acumen and corporate governance skills to the board of directors. Kevin, in addition, will be providing regulatory and financial guidance on both the audit and compensation committees. Kevin is the Chair of the Investment Capital Committee and sits on the Economic Development Committee of the Winnipeg Chamber of Commerce and is a Director of the Winnipeg Entrepreneur Exchange. In 2005, Kevin was appointed to the Manitoba Premier's Economic Advisory Council.

Stephen Masson, M.Sc. P.Geo of Flin Flon, Manitoba is a former President and C.E.O. of Copper Reef and brings strong exploration skills to the board especially in the Flin Flon Greenstone Belt where he has concentrated his efforts as Exploration Manager for various companies for the past 19 years. Mr. Masson is currently Exploration Manager of Copper Reef and a major shareholder through his service company M'Ore Exploration Services Inc. Previously, Mr Masson held the position of President and CEO of Foran, a public company on the TSX-V, where he brings public company experience to the board. Stephen is the current President of the Manitoba-Saskatchewan Prospectors Association and an active member of MELC, an interprovincial, federal government and industry mineral exploration liaison committee.
