IBM Partnering With ABM Industries on Integration of Acquired Company
Friday July 18, 10:04 am ET

ARMONK, NY--(MARKET WIRE)--Jul 18, 2008 -- IBM (NYSE:IBM - News) today announced that it would continue assisting ABM Industries Incorporated (ABM - News), one of the largest facility services contractors listed on the New York Stock Exchange, with technology integration services for finance and human capital management as well as business process standardization.

The companies signed a new services contract for $3.5M under their existing 7 year master services agreement to assist with the ongoing integration of One Source Building Services, agreement extending their two-year relationship to include ABM's ongoing integration of OneSource Building Services, which ABM acquired in Fall 2007. ABM is currently 15 months into a major transformation project with IBM to replace its existing financial, payroll and benefits administration systems. Under the agreement IBM Global Business Services will assist in the final phases of the migration of OneSource's financial and payroll business operations onto ABM's existing new technology platform.

"The integration of the OneSource operations is on plan and performing well," said Cathie Beadel, Vice President and Chief Information Officer for ABM Industries. "IBM has been assisting in the integration at various levels and this final phase is a natural extension of that work as IBM is a great choice to partner with us in these last phases of the project since they have had a significant role in the past two years building our core technology platform for finance and human capital management."

In this phase, IBM Global Business Services will use its human capital management and technology expertise to standardize business processes and integration with legacy systems. This initiative is in conjunction with the ongoing IBM Global Business Services project to enhance ABM's financial and payroll platforms as well as ABM's shared services environment. The expanded scope took effect in June 2008. The original master services agreement was signed in September 2006.

"As ABM continues to grow, IBM has the unique capability to blend its expertise in project management with its know-how in technology and application management to help the company continue to expand," said Shawn Permann, Partner, IBM Global Business Services. "IBM's scalable and flexible tools and services support the current and planned growth."
