Fortis Inc. Announces First Dividend on Cumulative Redeemable Five-Year Fixed Rate Reset First Preference Shares, Series "G"

ST. JOHN'S, NEWFOUNDLAND AND LABRADOR--(MARKET WIRE)--Jun 17, 2008 -- The Board of Directors of Fortis Inc. (the "Corporation") (Toronto:FTS.TO - News) has declared the first dividend of $0.3622 per share on the issued and outstanding Cumulative Redeemable Five-Year Fixed Rate Reset First Preference Shares, Series "G" of the Corporation, payable on September 1, 2008 to the Cumulative Redeemable Five-Year Fixed Rate Reset First Preference Shares, Series "G" Shareholders of Record at the close of business on August 8, 2008. The Corporation has designated the dividend as an eligible dividend for federal and provincial dividend tax credit purposes.
