Rebuilding Together Colorado Springs and Lowe's Ramp It Up for Disabled Homeowners COLORADO SPRINGS, CO--(MARKET WIRE)--May 8, 2008 --
WHAT: Rebuilding Together Colorado Springs and Lowe's have joined forces
to build wheelchair ramps for disabled homeowners in the Colorado
Springs area. More than 25 community volunteers will work to
install six wheelchairs to benefit seven Colorado Springs
residents. Several of the residents suffer from diabetes, one
resident has cerebral palsy and another resident suffers from
complications of a car accident. Without the wheelchair ramps the
recipients would not be able to leave their homes or live an
independent lifestyle.
Lowe's generously provided $66,000 for the "Ramp It Up" project.
Rebuilding Together Colorado Springs will use this project to
develop a wheelchair ramp installation guide for national use by
Rebuilding Together's affiliate network. Lowe's is a national
sponsor of Rebuilding Together and has contributed a total of $2
million dollars over the last two years.
