The YPA and the ADP announced formal Joint Environmental Guidelines earlier this month, and member publishers of either organization that agree to adhere to these Guidelines may choose to display the new seal on directories and other sales and marketing materials. The Guidelines focus on source reduction, recycling opportunities and efforts to minimize the Yellow Pages industry's environmental impact.

"We are proud to take the Yellow Pages industry's environmental commitment to the next level with this new environmental seal," said Neg Norton, president, YPA.

ADP's President Larry Angove added, "Our collective publisher members have embraced this new transparency -- consumers and businesses alike can feel confident their local directory publishers are employing steps to proactively reduce their environmental impact,"

The new seal features an illustration of an open Yellow Pages directory with a tree sprouting from within the book.
