Franchisee Thomas Jones carried out extensive research of 'juice bars' in the United States and Australia in advance of signing a 10-year license agreement with Robeks to develop stores throughout Ireland and Northern Ireland. This first location, a 400 square-foot "high-street" store, opened on January 29, 2008, and grand opening festivities are scheduled shortly. Jones claims he arrives in the early morning hours to find blenders abuzz and unusual smoothie concoctions scattered about the store. Thirsty poltergeist?

Robeks Ireland serves a menu similar to Robeks' 140-plus U.S. stores: premium, made-to-order smoothies, wraps/salads, wheatgrass and power muffins, with the added difference of scones and hot green tea, along with pure 100 percent juices, that appeal to the local palate. Already, visitors have dubbed favorites: Berry Brilliance and Banzai Blueberry.
