XBRL Canada Elects New Board Board and Steering Committee Renew Canada's Commitment to Furthering XBRL Adoption TORONTO, ONTARIO--(MARKET WIRE)--Nov 23, 2007 -- XBRL Canada, member jurisdiction of XBRL International,
elected their 2008 board during an annual general meeting
held November 7. XBRL (eXtensible Business Reporting Language)
is growing rapidly around the world and is set to become
the standard way of recording, storing and transmitting
business financial information. "During the past year, XBRL Canada has made significant progress in our intent to further adoption of XBRL by Canadian companies and promote the benefits inherent in its use," said Gerald Trites, project director, XBRL Canada. "In 2007, we saw the launch of the Voluntary Filing Program, acknowledgment by XBRL International of the updated version of the Canadian GAAP PFS Taxonomy and we hosted educational seminars in Toronto and Vancouver".
