reader and
associated software targeting a range of retail point-of-sale
applications.
DigitalPersona's well recognized U.are.U Fingerprint Reader
and software
now support unified point-of-service (UPOS) operating systems
that include
OPOS (OLE Point of Service) for Windows and Windows Embedded
for Point of
Service compliant systems. These UPOS compliant devices
are being deployed
by the world's leading retail, restaurant and hospitality
VARs and
application vendors, along with large retail point-of-sale
equipment and
device manufacturers.
The new DigitalPersona products allow retailers to quickly and easily add DigitalPersona fingerprint readers or modules to their standards-based compliant POS terminals. Fingerprint biometrics enables retailers to deploy cost-saving applications at the register such as employee time and attendance, theft and fraud prevention, and cash drawer loss control.
