The Washington State Lottery Commission operates a state-run lottery and other games of chance that benefit a variety of government programs. Players can choose from a number of scratch ticket games, as well as number draw games including Hit 5, Match 4, and Lotto. Washington's Lottery also participates in the multi-state Mega Millions game. Proceeds from the lottery have been used for education and economic development programs, as well as to help fund construction of Safeco Stadium, home of the Seattle Mariners baseball team. The Washington Lottery was created in 1982.
