Genting Hong Kong Limited (formerly Star Cruises) is one of the world's leading cruise line operators, behind industry leaders Carnival and Royal Caribbean. Together with 50%-owned NCL, Star Cruises maintains a fleet of about 20 vessels under the Star Cruises and Norwegian Cruise Line brands with about 30,000 berths overall. Genting Hong Kong's eight branded vessels range from the "SuperStar Virgo" (2,000-passenger capacity) to the "MegaStar Taurus," designed for private charters. Controlled by entities associated with Malaysian holding company Genting, the company changed its name to Genting Hong Kong Limited in late 2009 in order to better reflect Star Cruises' ties to Genting.
