Planes soar off production lines more easily than Embraer-Empresa Brasileira de Aeronáutica flies off the tongue. Better known as Embraer, the company is world's #4 aircraft manufacturer, behind Airbus, Boeing, and Bombardier; Embraer ranks behind only Bombardier in regional aircraft. Embraer primarily makes jets and turboprops that seat 21-116 passengers, but Embraer also serves military markets -- mainly the Brazilian Air Force -- with transport, light attack, and surveillance aircraft. Brazil's government pension funds own more than 20% of Embraer.
