If Grupo Comercial Chedraui can't give you the whole enchilada, it certainly can provide you with everything you need to make one. One of Mexico's leading retailers, the company sells groceries, apparel, appliances, and other non-perishable items in about 100 Chedraui supermarkets, hypermarkets, and warehouse stores throughout southeastern Mexico, which is among the least developed regions in the country. The company also owns 15 check-cashing and remittance locations under the CheSuma name and has a large stake in Bodega Latina, which has about a half a dozen El Super supermarkets in the Los Angeles area. Chedraui was founded by the Chedraui family in 1927; it is still owned and managed by family members.
