Endesa provides power to more than 24 million customers in 11 countries (50% Spanish customers) on three continents. A subsidiary of Italian power giant Enel, Endesa is Spain's #1 electric utility and has a generating capacity of 39,700 MW from nuclear, fossil-fueled, hydroelectric, and renewable energy plants. Endesa is the primary electricity company in Chile, Argentina, Colombia and Peru and also operates in Brazil. It is a major player in the Mediterranean region, especially Italy, and is active in other countries. Endesa serves more than 397,200 natural gas customers in Spain. The company is also investing heavily in renewable energy to meet Spain's commitment to greenhouse gas reduction.
