Fondiaria-SAI provides life, auto, accident, health, fire, liability, and other policies to customers in Italy. Also known as FonSai, Fondiaria-SAI was created in 2002 when Società Assicuratrice Industriale acquired La Fondiaria Assicurazioni. The company, or at least its predecessor companies, has been active for more than 100 years. As part of a multi-year integration plan, the company has expanded its product range in the areas of industrial accidents, fire, and product loss, while closing less central areas of business such as real estate management. Chairman Jonella Ligresti and the Ligresti family own about 45% of the company through their family holding company Premafin Finanziaria.
