An integrated aluminum producer, Aluminium of Greece mines bauxite, produces alumina, and makes aluminum created through electrolysis. The company's finished aluminum is marketed to automobile manufacturers and manufacturers of building materials and packaging. Aluminium of Greece's Delphes & Distomon subsidiary operates underground mines to extract bauxite used by its parent for aluminum production. Alcan had gained a 60%-plus interest in Aluminium of Greece through its acquisition of Pechiney but sold the stake to the Mytilineos Group in 2005. In 2007 Mytilineos acquired 100% of Aluminium of Greece and metallurgical company Delta Projects.
