Alleanza Assicurazioni believes that life is beautiful, and has proven it by insuring lives in Italy for more than a century. Today it serves some 2 million policyholders throughout the country. Along with basic and specialty life insurance, the company provides pensions, annuities, and other savings and investment products. Its 350 sales agencies are directly controlled by the company, allowing it a more coordinated approach to marketing. Alleanza Assicurazioni also operates in the real estate and financial markets. Italy's largest insurance company, Assicurazioni Generali, owns just over 50% of the firm. Generali plans to acquire the rest of Alleanza and merge it with another unit, Toro Assicurazioni.
