Maybe, baby? Not if Bayer Schering Pharma can help it. The global ethical pharmaceuticals unit of health care giant Bayer (which also makes erectile dysfunction treatment Levitra), is a leading maker of women's health care products, including birth control pills and hormone therapies. Besides women's health, the company offers a primary care line-up featuring antibiotics Avelox and Cipro and multiple sclerosis drug Betaseron. The firm also makes contrast media for diagnostic imaging and drugs for treating various cancers, hemophilia, Parkinson's disease, and multiple sclerosis. Formerly Schering AG, the company was acquired by Bayer in 2006 and merged with that company's prescription drug business.
