Businesses come and go, but one company that makes the cut is Fiskars. Fiskars makes those orange-colored scissors and other cutting tools for sewing, quilting, and crafts; school and office; and gardening. It also makes pottery and furniture for the garden, as well as pruners and shears. Fiskars' school products include rulers and pencil sharpeners. Its Gerber division makes knives and multi-tools. Not all of the company's business is on the cutting edge. Its Inha Works division makes and markets aluminum boats, building components, and forged rail fasteners in Scandinavia. Fiskars also manages real estate in and around Fiskars Village, where the company was founded in 1649.
