This flying Finn sends passengers and cargo to about 50 international destinations (mainly in Europe and Asia) and about a dozen in Finland. Along with its scheduled service, Finnair operates charter flights to resort destinations in the Canary Islands, the Caribbean, Latin America, the Mediterranean, and Southeast Asia. The carrier operates a diverse fleet of about 65 aircraft from its hub in Helsinki. In addition, Finnair provides travel agency services, catering, package tours, and aircraft maintenance. The Finnish government owns a controlling stake in Finnair, which was founded in 1923.
