LION bioscience is roaring to be king of the drug discovery jungle. The firm licenses its life sciences informatics software to drug developers. The technology is used mainly in the preclinical phase of drug development but is also used to develop agrochemicals. LION's flagship offering is SRS, which integrates chemical and biological data from different sources as well as various research applications into one computer environment. Another program, LION Target Engine, identifies, validates, and prioritizes possible drug targets. LION Lead Engine is used to identify and optimize drug leads. The company has some 80 commercial and 200 not-for-profit customers.
