BroadLogic Network Technologies designs semiconductors that act as front-end receivers -- delivering video, audio, and data content -- for consumer electronics gear, such as digital set-top boxes, cable modems, and game consoles. BroadLogic's TeraPIX video processor and BL12000 Wideband Receiver aim to boost data transmission rates for providers of cable services and others, using what has come to be known as channel bonding or wideband techniques. The company was started in 1999 as a spinoff of Adaptec. BroadLogic initially developed products for satellite broadcast and data services, and later shifted its focus to broadband access by cable.
