BPM Microsystems makes engineering and production device programmers, automated programming systems, and high-speed parallel wafer and packaged part test systems. The company's equipment supports programmable devices from dozens of semiconductor manufacturers. BPM Microsystems was founded in 1985. Formerly called BP Microsystems, the company changed its name to BPM Microsystems in 2006 to avoid confusion with Houston-based BP Amoco, a subsidiary of BP p.l.c., the international energy giant. The company originally took its name from the first initials of its founders, William (Bill) White and Peter Cole. White continues as BPM's president and CEO.
